The TechZone Service Center is the computer repair center for the Illinois State University community. No matter where the computer was purchased or what brand the computer is, we will be able to evaluate your computer.
Repair Time and Status
We work on a first-come first-served basis, so repair time depends on how many computers are awaiting evaluation. While we cannot give an expected completion date, you will be contacted with any updates during the repair or when the repair is completed.
If you would like to check the status of your computer, you can:
- E-mail us at TechZone@IllinoisState.edu. Be sure to include your ULID, your preferred contact information, and any specific questions that you might have.
- Call us at (309) 438-8334. You will be directed to a TechZone Service Center associate for assistance. If no one is available, please leave a voicemail. It will be returned as soon as an associate is available.
- Stop by the TechZone Service Center walk-up counter, located on the 1st floor of the Bone Student Center during business hours.
Devices
The TechZone Service Center will repair iPhones, configure wireless and/or e-mail on phone devices, and repair your in-warranty Dell printer. Please note that the TechZone Service Center cannot troubleshoot or repair any other type of printer.
Electronics Recycling
TechZone Service accepts small and medium sized electronics for recycling. Simply bring the electronics to the Service Center front counter and indicate that you would like them recycled.
- Batteries must be separated from electronics being recycled. If you need help removing batteries from equipment, we can assist.
- Illinois State University tagged equipment can not be accepted. Please contact Property Control for these items.
